Mango Airlines, best known for their cheap local flights, was established in 2006 and is owned by the South African Government, which makes it part/subsidiary of the well-known South-African Airways.They first launched end October 2006 with their first flight on 15 November 2006.
They have operated with the best on-time performance in South African skies for many years and continue to have the lowest cost base domestically that allows for continued affordable fares. They operate a fleet of new generation Boeing 737-800 aircrafts with a seating capacity of 186.They’re known as South Africa's most innovative airline and are the only African airline to offer on-board Wi-Fi.

Mango’s airline ticket prices vary from day to day. When you must travel on a less popular, like a Monday morning or a Sunday, you will pay cheaper than on popular days, i.e. Fridays, public holidays and long weekends. Be on the lookout for Mango’s Happy Days Sales. These are flight specials the airline offers, which run over several days. The Happy Day Sales typically run from Tuesday mornings until Wednesdays at 21:00, but it might vary. Please don’t wait until the last minute to book these. The early bird catches the worm! When booking your flights on Mango or any local airline, be sure when you would like to fly, where you would like to fly and how (economy or business) you would like to fly. Just follow our easy steps and we will show you all the latest prices and booking availability. Should circumstances arise later where you must amend a booking or change the name, an administration fee will be charged, so rather try to avoid that.
Please note:
- The recommended check-in time is two hours prior to departure;
- The boarding gate closes 40 minutes before the scheduled time of departure;
- Passengers who arrive after this time will need to make alternative travel arrangements;
- Bookings made within 24 hours of departure will not be able to make use of Mobi check-in;
- Mobi check-in is not available for flights departing from George and Bloemfontein. Guests, however, are encouraged to use the Mango check-in counters at these airports.
